Things getting worse for banks

Is the US economy in trouble? Well, you can take that to the bank. It has gone beyond mortgage meltdown. As the economy goes down we see problems wit auto loans, boat loans, and credit cards. People are out of work and cannot pay bills.

Trouble ahead

Yesterday, Ben Bernake, the head of the fed said that we face more foreclosures in the future. The economy will grind to a halt without a government bailout of the banks. The situation is very dire, now we see that a depression is coming, perhaps worse than the one in the 1930's.

I hope the volt will jolt people into a more ecofriendly mindset. GM officially declares the volt as its electric car.

Well, all the now has to happen is for people to put pressure on congress for more electric cars. If we are to really become oil free in the future we need an electric car.

Big banks near bankrptcy

While many look at AIG the largest insurance company in the world which is in trouble, I prefer to focus on WaMu the largest thrift in the US. A once thriving company that has seen better days.

Its stock went from almost 40 a year ago to less than 2 today. A portfolio heavy in risky real-estate loans sent it to the bottom. Yesterday mortgage giant Washington Mutual was downgraded down to "junk" by the S&P ratings agency due to insufficient collateral or margin requirements.

And in other news the Fed will soon cut interest rates due to a global financial crisis and mortgage meltdown. This may prop up the markets, but even so we see more trouble ahead.

Markets Going DOWn

People have lost faith in the greenback, which is no longer green. Yes, people no longer trust our candy colored currency, like the fruity pastel pink fifty dollar bill and the bright orange monopoly money orangeback ten that looks like fake as can be. These new bills look like play money from the toy store.

It is no wonder that people bail on the banks.

Pyramid Car

An electric pyramid dream car powered by battery is tooling down the street. This car looks like a pyramid with a glass top. It is one quite odd automobile. Really turns peoples heads, a real dream boat. At first I wondered if it might be solar powered.
